The Expedition

Drive yourself to a tidewater glacier.

No jet ski experience is required. We take lots of people who have never driven a jet ski before, and our guides are well trained at getting people comfortable. It's a 60-mile round trip, going 35-55mph on the ocean.

"It’s a good thing they don’t have a 'pay what you think it’s worth' policy because I would’ve emptied my bank accounts after doing this. One of the most incredible experiences, truly once in a lifetime. There are so few places in the world you can do something like this, so if you’re in Alaska and thinking about it, JUST DO IT."

Matt B. · Tripadvisor

"I'd never been on a jet ski before. After the briefing I felt safe the whole way. Our guides were well trained at getting people comfortable on a jet ski. Most people feel like pros with a little help from our guides!"

Priya R. · Google Reviews

"Glacier Jetski Adventures were the pioneers of jet ski tours into Blackstone Bay. We loved the family-owned vibe and knowing we were out with the first and most experienced tour operator in the area."

Whittier is accessed through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel — a single-lane, alternating-direction passage shared with the Alaska Railroad. Arrivals open on the half-hour, departures on the hour.

Common Questions

Everything you want to ask before you throttle.

Do I need jet ski experience?+

No. Most of our guests are first-timers. We provide a full safety briefing and on-water orientation in calm harbor water before we head out.

Will I be cold?+

We outfit every rider in a high-performance drysuit with insulating layers, gloves, boots, and helmet. Most guests are surprised by how warm they stay.

What's your weather policy?+

Safety first. If we cancel for weather, you receive a full refund or free reschedule. The Sound is moody — we plan for it.

Can cruise passengers join?+

Yes. Tour timing aligns with most cruise schedules in Whittier. Let us know your ship and we'll help plan the day.

What's the age requirement?+

Riders must be 18+ to drive. Passengers 12+ can ride double with an adult. Talk to us about family bookings.

How long is the tour?+

About 4 to 4.5 hours total, with roughly 2.5–3 hours actually on the water.
